Keim’s 20-year warranty provides added peace of mind, differentiating them from oil-based paints that often suffer from fading and degradation. The ability to achieve full coverage with just one or two strokes, even on fine details, is another significant advantage of Keim paints, contributing to increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Erik explains, “Sign painters want to cover adequately with one stroke when you’re doing text or fine details. Keim offers the ability to cover in one stroke because of the amount of pigment in these paints; one stroke is all that is needed”.

Erik states, “The Design Lasur product is like a watercolor in some ways, can get realist photo effects by using glazes with that product, we were happy to add that into our tool bag”. Overall, Erik speaks about the most significant advantage of Keim paints: “The ability Keim paints have to become part of the substrate and to endure for a long time is a winning asset and is a wonderful tool for us”.

The Initial Fear that has since Faded

Initial concerns regarding the color limitations of Keim Mineral Paints were quickly dispelled upon discovering the Design Lasur line. While the Soldalit line offered a versatile palette, the team initially doubted its ability to achieve the desired vibrancy for specific projects. However, Design Lasur proved to be the solution, allowing for the creation of bold and enduring colors. Nicolaisen explains, “I didn’t think we could get the real vibrant colors with the Soladlit line, however, the Design Lasur line has allowed the vibrant colors to be easily achievable, giving us everything we need”.

Despite the higher cost, Erik’s team acknowledges that the investment in Keim products is well worth the price, given their exceptional performance and longevity. Nicolaisen states, “Though the product is expensive, you’re never going to find such vibrant colors that endure; to me, it’s worth every single penny”. Overall, Erik’s initial concerns have been buried by the bright and vibrant colors that the Design Lasur product offers.
