KEIM RESTAURO® STAIN

Sol-silicate pigmented mineral stain and glaze

Sol-silicate-based, non-film-forming mineral stain provides a penetrating, low pigment or translucent finish when diluted with RESTAURO Dilution/Thinner. The original look and feel of natural or precast stone and masonry or brick are not filled-in or altered by RESTAURO, except for color tone. It may be used as a solid-color finish (undiluted) or as a transparent stain/glaze when mixed with dilution/thinner. Pigment and opacity levels result from how much dilution (clear) is added. Stains ranging from mostly opaque to almost clear are possible.

Use for

KEIM Restauro® LASUR/Stain

SOL-SILICATE PIGMENTED MINERAL STAIN

See how easy it is to install Restauro Stain to masonry surfaces. Create semi-transparent color on most any masonry, stone, stucco or brick surface.

How the Restauro Stain System Works

Restauro Stain is two-component system that include Restauro Stain (Colored Part) and Restauro Fixative ( Clear Part)

  1. Select your Restauro Stain color. You may select from monochrometone, single chroma artist colors, or  most tinted colors. The Restauro Stain is fully opaque and concentrated. It may be applied without dilution to produce solid colors, but the thin and deeply penetrating features of Restauro Stain does not alter the “feel” or texture of your surface. The surface will appear “dyed” and not “painted” to the selected color, but the surface texture is unchanged.
  2.  How much transparency do you want ? Mix Restauro Stain with Restauro Fixative/Dilution clear to increase the transparency of the stain. You choose just the right amount of color. Mock-ups are recommended to determine the proper mix ratio for your needs. Mix as little or as much Fixative/Dilution with Restauro Stain keeps the quality of the finish the same. You are mixing clear binder with the Restauro Stain – no the properties of the stain are not “diluted”. Never dilute with water.
  3. Apply the diluted, transparent stain to porous masonry, concrete, stucco, plaster, drywall, and mineral paint surface. Two coats are recommended to ensure weather resistance and color retention.
