SCAD RIVER RESIDENCE HALL
This new construction residence hall brings a modern location close to several SCAD’s facilities for students to live and learn, enhancing their experience at Savannah College of Art of Design. This project aimed to bring more student housing on the campus of SCAD and the new dorm, which will alleviate parking challenges for students and positively impact the surrounding community. This residence hall offers suite-style living, and each suite includes two double-occupancy bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, and shared cabinets with a sink. The rooms come with air conditioning, extra-long twin-size beds, wireless Internet access, a worktable, a chair, and a wardrobe unit for each resident. The building is ADA accessible and features lounge spaces, elevator service, pay laundry machines, and an on-site market called Hatch. The Cargo Dining Hall is on the ground floor, and garage parking is available across the street. This project presented a unique opportunity to provide more housing for students near these academic facilities and construct a statement building visible from downtown Savannah, Georgia.
