The Hotel is centrally located in one of the largest thoroughfares in Washington. The property is in a highly visible location for travelers in all directions, and as such, the appearance of the Hotel is all the more important.  Hotel owners wanted a long-lasting concrete finish that would look good for decades.

Most of the building is concrete, which required repairs and refinishing before applying a durable, breathable, lightfast coating.
