MINERAL PAINTS ARE EXTREMELY DURABLE

KEIM is synonymous with heritage and durability. Many KEIM mineral paint projects in Europe date back to the 1890’s and are still performing today. Here are some of KEIM’s oldest and most famous projects. In 1878, the craftsman and researcher Adolf Wilhelm Keim patented mineral paints. Since then, they have been manufactured by Keimfarben in Diedorf, Germany. Many of Europe’s most iconic and important heritage sites have been restored with KEIM mineral paints, not only for their incredible longevity, but also for their compatibility with historic masonry surfaces.

INNOVATION IS IN OUR DNA

From the very first days when Adolf Wilhelm Keim first patented his mineral paints we have never stopped innovating and seeking better, more sustainable ways to source and produce KEIM paints. Today, state-of-theart Sol Silicate binders have elevated the art and science of mineral paints, far beyond our legendary beginnings. These finishes combine the latest science and production techniques to yield a superior paint finish that is incredibly light-fast, weather and water resistant and can even be applied over conventional acrylic paint finishes.

At right, the city hall in Schwyz, Switzerland was painted with KEIM Mineral paints in 1891 and has stood the test of time, even in the harsh Alpine environment.

Testing is non-stop at KEIM

To continue to provide the most enduring and beautiful mineral paints, KEIM’s technicians never stop testing and proving the durability of mineral paints and pigments. Field testing is only part of the rigorous performance testing plan that is part of every bucket. Not only do KEIM projects have proven track records of performance, but continuous improvement is a corner stone of our core principals. Today, KEIM colors are constantly put to the test and have earned Europe’s highest exterior U.V. resistance performance standard. All KEIM paints are tested by the standard for Lightfastness of color pigment (Fb-Code acc. to BFS technical bulletin No. 26) and are rated A1--best in class rating with no color change after 4 years of exposure. You can trust your next colorful project to KEIM and rest assured the colors will last and last.

Mineral Silicate paints are naturally U.V. resistant and lightfast

Every component of KEIM’s mineral silicate paints is naturally resistant to ultraviolet light and completely color-fast. Mineral silicate binders, mineral fillers and all-natural mineral pigments from the earth are what give KEIM paints their incredible longevity.

NEVER COMPROMISING, KEIM MINERAL PAINTS ARE MADE TO THE MOST EXACTING STANDARDS, YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW. ONLY THE FINEST, NATURAL MATERIALS ARE SOURCED.

Only the finest, natural raw materials are sourced and manufactured with minimal impact on the environment. Our plants are not like chemical plants as we treat the raw materials from nature with respect and refine them as little as necessary resulting in extremely eco-friendly paints, from sourcing through production and application. No harsh chemicals or biocides are ever added, nor do KEIM paints contain any VOC’s—and they never have! These are the world’s original “green” paints.

Oldest KEIM paint in America dates back to 1905

Jupiter lighthouse with KEIM mineral paintBased on records at the Jupiter Lighthouse Museum, the first time the masonry lighthouse tower was painted with KEIM Mineral Paint was in 1905. The vibrant red color is completely lightfast and has lasted, without fail, despite Florida’s harsh coastal environment. We think the red color is simply brilliant!
